Furzedown Youth Centre (FYC)

Furzedown Youth Centre (FYC) is a charity run by the Furzedown Churches. It runs weekly youth club sessions, trips and activities for young people aged 11-16 from the local communities of Furzedown, Tooting and Streatham.

It employs a part-time youth worker and runs with the help of a team of volunteers from the Furzedown Churches and the local community.

FYC clubs meet in a purpose-built youth centre in the basement of St James Community Hall on Welham Road.

Over 50 young people attend FYC each week in two clubs to learn, have fun, relax, and make new friends.

Activities include games such as table-tennis and table football; dodgeball and tag-rugby; drama; street dance; crafts; baking; small group discussions; computing, and chilling out on the comfy sofas with drinks and snacks from the café bar.

Young people also have the opportunity to attend organised trips and residential activity weeks.

All staff and volunteers at FYC undergo a DBS security check.
