Youth Club (FYC)

Friday Night Youth Club

The Furzedown Youth Centre (FYC) team run a weekly youth club for young people in school years 6-13.

The club takes place on Friday evenings in term time from 6.00pm to 8.00pm in the lower floor of St. James Community Hall on Welham Road.

Activities include table-tennis, snooker, table football and XBOX as well as organised games which sometimes take place in the Mitcham Lane Baptist Church hall opposite.

Crafts, baking, drama, street dance, candy-floss making and other activities are also sometimes on offer.

Alternatively, you can just chill out, listen to music and chat on our comfy sofas with drinks and snacks from the café bar.

The cost is just 50p per session and the first taster session is free.

There are also occasional organised trips and a yearly residential activity week.

Friday After-School Drop-In

On Fridays the Youth Centre is now open as a safe space for young people in years 7-13 to drop in after school. All young people in Secondary School are welcome to come along from 3.00pm to 5.00pm. There is no charge for this session.
