Time to Think and Pray
Questions
-
What job did Joseph do?
-
What was the name of Jesus’ cousin?
-
What did Jesus spend his time doing as he grew up?
Even though Jesus is the Son of God who came into the world to save us, he grew up as a normal boy who enjoyed doing things that other children like to do! He played with his friends, his brothers and sisters, and his cousin, John. He grew up learning about the Jewish faith and traditions just like a lot of the other families in Nazareth. He also learned how to carve wood and make things like chairs and tables, from Joseph, who was a carpenter. As he got older, he studied the Bible to learn all it had to say about God, his Father in heaven, and his plan for the world. This was important because when he was an adult, Jesus was going to teach everyone about God and how we should live if we want to be a part of his family. This was all a part of God’s special plan to save us! It’s important for us to read the Bible and learn more about God too so that we can be his friend and follow him the right way.
For the next few months we are going to hear more about Jesus, his time on earth, and God’s amazing plan!
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you that you are God's Son who came into the world to teach us all about God and how to be a part of his family. Please help us over the next few months, to learn more about you and how you want us to live. Amen.
