Sunday Groups

Sunday groups continue to be available at St. James.

All adults and young people aged 11+ must wear masks please. For the safety of others please do not attend church or groups if you, or a child, have a cough or cold, or have been told to isolate. In this case please stay home and watch online instead. Thank you

Children are a very welcome and important part of the St. James family.

Services on the first and third Sundays of the month are for all ages together with plenty of content that children will enjoy.

Sunday groups are available for children aged 3 -16 during the main part of the service on the remaining Sundays. Children begin in church with their parents and leave part-way through the service for their own age-appropriate, fun, Bible-based groups.

A signed registration form is needed for children to attend Sunday groups. A form can be printed HERE or collected from the information desk on Sunday.

Covid Safety

We have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and are following guidance from the National Youth agency to keep everyone as safe as possible.

If you or any of your household feel unwell, have cough or cold symptoms, have been diagnosed with COVID-19 (or been in close contact with someone who has) within the last 10 days, or have been asked to self-isolate under the NHS Test and Trace scheme then we would kindly ask you to please stay at home this Sunday and join us online instead. Thank you.

Children and adults will sanitise their hands at the start and end of each session.

Babies and Toddlers

Parents are very welcome to keep young children with them during the service. A children’s corner is available on the carpeted area at the back right of the church with quiet toys and books for little ones. Please use this area as needed. On weeks when older children go out to Sunday groups, a creche area is also available in the Centre for young children who need to let off steam. Currently parents need to stay with their children when using this area please.

Bubbles

Children may join Bubbles in the September after they turn three and stay until the end of school Year 1. Bubbles meets in the Hatch Room of the Church Centre, opposite the Creche. Children join the group part-way through the morning service to enjoy their own fun-based session including a Bible story and craft. Parents should bring children to the group as directed after the opening worship, and return to church as soon as they are settled please. You will be directed to collect them later in the service.

Parents of children with additional needs are welcome to stay, but are asked to wear a face-covering please, to protect our older volunteers.

Children who are not quite ready for Bubbles are very welcome to use the creche or children's corner until Bubbles is right for them.

Children will return to church with their leaders in time for communion at the end of the service.
