The man in our story unexpectedly came across the most wonderful treasure! He thought it was so amazing that he had to have it for himself. But the field didn’t belong to him, which meant that the treasure didn’t belong to him either! So he sold everything he owned so that he could have enough money to buy the field and dig up the treasure! Now the treasure belonged to him!
Jesus told this story to teach us that knowing him, and being able to live in heaven forever, is the most wonderful thing we could ever have. It is like finding an amazing treasure! It is so wonderful that he wants us to be willing to give up everything else to have it.
Prayer
Dear Lord, Please help us to remember that knowing you and being able to live with you forever in heaven is the most wonderful treasure we can have. Amen
