Messy Sunday

Messy Sunday is an informal, lively and interactive service for all ages which takes place on the first Sunday of the month. All are welcome to join in any of the activities on offer.

Pick up a free drink and pastry on your way in and take a seat in the church building. After a short time of worship and an introduction to the theme, we break into different 'zones' for the main part of the service. A variety of activities are on offer for all ages, and parents are encouraged to accompany their children in activities suitable for the whole family. Zones range from being interactive and messy to reflective and thought-provoking. All are designed to help us to think about the theme more carefully and learn more about God while having fun.

Recent zones have included arts and crafts; messy play; a drama workshop; gardening; a Bible study; a discussion topic and a reflective prayer activity. When zone time is over we re-join the rest of the church to share what we have been doing and conclude our theme. We also celebrate the birthdays of those born that month!

When a first Sunday is not a Messy Sunday, an all-age, child-friendly worship service takes place instead. These services contain action songs, video clips, interactive prayer and other activities particularly enjoyed by children.
